Oh, Judah, how are you 1?! This year has passed so fast and so slow all at the same time. March-July seemed like time stood still and then August to December flew by. To be sure, the best part of 2020 was welcoming you into our family- you have completed us in the best way possible. Your fun, easy, sweet, and HAPPY! little spirit has been a balm to my soul in a season that abruptly and unexpectedly threw me for a loop towards the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. Your name in and of itself has been a reminder to praise Him through all of life's seasons and praise Him we have. You are a treasured, priceless gift to us and every moment I get to spend with you truly fills me with utmost joy. As the third kid you have breezed through every milestone and have seemingly done things ahead of big bros. You will not be left behind. Your bright, infectious smile lights up the room and there's no one you love more than your family- especially Mommy- which warms my heart to no end. Your brothers love you dearly and dote over you constantly- Canaan loves to tickle and snuggle with you and Levi loves to carry you around like a sack of potatoes and rough house. Both fitting with their personalities. I can't wait to see who God grows you to be and how the three of you will band together. That is our deepest prayer for you, Judah. That you would know the love of Christ because of the grace and love you see in your family and that you would one day love and follow Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is the goal and prize of this life. I look forward to watching you grow into the man God created you to be and can't wait for all of the birthdays ahead- today is only the beginning. I love you, sweet boy of mine. Happy first Birthday to our Judah/Judey/Judey Booty/Judah Man.
Size: 19 lbs, size 4 diapers, 12+month clothes
Eating: loves pouches, breakfast bars, turkey, goldfish, veggie straws, yogurt. Started whole milk about 10 days ago (8 oz cup with each meal).
Sleeping: remains a champion sleeper! With the time change he's sleeping later and thus not wanting to nap as long. So we try morning nap 10-12 and afternoon nap at 2/2:30 but he sometimes revolts in the afternoon. I've been putting him to bed at 6:30 on those days and he sleeps until 8:30/8:45am the next morning without a peep! It's crazy and I'm very thankful.
Milestones: Walking!! Our earliest walker at 11.5 months! Claps on command, shakes head no, waves, says "hi/hey", mama, dada, uh-oh, and what sounds like bubba or bababa. Can identify people when asked where they are. He loves to look for things under the couch and table/object identification. A 5th tooth has popped through on top! Fought another cold last week and is finally over his cough and runny nose.
Likes: bath time!! throwing/rolling the ball- he gets sooo excited! remotes, phones, toilets, potting soil/my potted plants, trashcans, toilet paper, dropping food, feeding Finley. :)
Dislikes: can't really think of anything other than getting his diaper changed- he loves to squirm away. And sitting in the high chair for extended periods. He is so happy and smiley and for that I am so thankful!
